Support for TSync-VPX Bus-Level Timing Boards

The TSync Series of Timecode Processors integrates Spectracom's state-of-the-art timing engine in various board-level form factors for easy integration.

Configurability includes additions of an internal GPS receiver and higher quality crystal oscillators for extended holdover accuracy. Other form factors and customized signalling support is available.

Required Update for TSync Bus-Level Timing Products equipped with the Trimble Resolution SMT GG GNSS receiver

This update permanently fixes the leap second bug of July 2016 affecting these units.

Spectracom’s TSync bus-level timing platform was integrated into a new small, rugged, Passive Detection and Reporting System (PDRS) to receive GPS, discipline an onboard rugged ovenized crystal oscillator and generate high precision time and frequency signals for system synchronization. It also delivers GPS coordinates for the system.

The development of the system greatly benefited from Spectracom's customization-to-COTS approach by adapting the platform into a standard VPX-based card without the need for non-recurring engineering charges. It offered the necessary ruggedization, small size, and low weight and power consumption to meet the goals of system portability, and is available with secure SAASM GPS.

Starting with Tsync-PCIe firmware Release version 2.0.0, all TSync-PCIe timing boards that contain an internal GPS receiver have the capability of operating in either the factory default “Standard” mode (Also known as the “Stationary” mode) or can instead be programmed to operate in the available “Mobile” mode (also known as “Continuous” mode).
